Size record cubbies with at least 330 mm clear height and depth, and reinforce long shelves against sagging. Tambour doors need a smooth, accurately routed track; make a short test section before committing the full set of slats to canvas backing. Leave ventilation behind audio equipment and provide a grommeted cable opening. A plywood carcase with solid walnut lippings is more stable and economical than wide solid panels. Finish the interior before final assembly, because reaching corners after the back and tracks are installed is difficult.
