Make the slatted top from cedar strips with 6 mm drainage gaps. Join the legs and aprons with loose tenons or dowels rated for exterior use, using waterproof glue and stainless fasteners where needed. Keep the leg bottoms slightly proud of the wet surface with glides. A wedged through-tenon can add strength and visual detail, but test the wedge angle on scrap. Renew penetrating exterior oil annually.
