Lie on your abdomen with elbows under or slightly ahead of shoulders and forearms parallel. Press the forearms down, lengthen the tailbone back and lift the breastbone without throwing the head backward. Hold 5–8 breaths, keeping the glutes relaxed. Move the elbows farther forward for less intensity. Avoid the pose or seek guidance if extension causes sharp back pain, tingling or symptoms down a leg.
